Branding Concept & Visual Identity
Bikiru Swimwear is a contemporary swimwear brand rooted in ancestry, nature, and personal identity. The name Bikiru is a fusion of “biki”, derived from bikini, and “iru”, inspired by Irupé — a Guarani term referring to the Vitória Régia (Victoria cruziana), the iconic giant aquatic plant native to the Amazon basin.
The Vitória Régia is more than a botanical reference; it is a powerful symbol of the Amazon, resilience, and belonging. Deeply connected to her native roots, the brand’s owner sought to honor her name’s origin and cultural heritage. This concept became the foundation of the visual identity, positioning Bikiru not as a traditional beachwear brand, but as a river- and jungle-inspired swimwear label.
Logo & Symbolism
The logo system is built around a custom wordmark paired with an abstract botanical symbol inspired by the Vitória Régia’s organic form. Rather than a literal illustration, the symbol translates the plant’s floating leaves into a graphic language that feels modern, fluid, and tactile. The shapes evoke movement, water surfaces, and the gentle rhythm of rivers, reinforcing the brand’s natural and feminine energy.
Color Palette & Materials
The color palette draws directly from the Amazonian landscape: earthy browns, clay tones, mossy greens, muted sand, and soft botanical neutrals. These hues intentionally distance the brand from the conventional tropical beach aesthetic, replacing turquoise blues and bright corals with forest soil, riverbanks, leaves, and shaded water.
Textures play a key role across the branding. Natural materials such as wood, stone, sand, fabric, and organic fibers are incorporated into the visual system, creating a sensory connection between product, environment, and story.
